아이유 주연 MBC 금토드라마 ‘21세기 대군부인‘ 2026년 상반기 편성 확정

MBC 금토드라마 ‘21세기 대군부인’이 2026년 상반기 금토드라마 편성을 확정했다.
’21세기 대군부인‘은 21세기 입헌군주제 대한민국이라는 가상의 배경에서 모든 걸 가진 재벌이지만 신분이 평민이라 짜증스러운 여자 '성희주'와 왕의 아들이지만 아무것도 가질 수 없어 슬픈 남자 이안대군 '이완'의 운명 개척 신분 타파 로맨스다.
아이유는 뛰어난 미모와 지성, 승부욕까지 갖춘 능력 있는 경영인이지만 평민이라는 신분의 한계를 지닌 재벌가의 둘째 ‘성희주’를 연기한다. 톱 싱어송라이터이자 탁월한 캐릭터 소화력과 탄탄한 연기력으로 배우로서도 확고한 입지를 굳힌 아이유가 선보일 성희주는 자신이 가지고 있지 않은 단 하나, ‘신분’을 얻기 위해 이안대군 ‘이완’(변우석 분)과의 계약결혼을 선택하는 당찬 캐릭터다. 그녀는 자신과 비슷한 처지이지만 다른 선택을 하며 살아온 이안대군과 만나면서 인생의 전환점을 맞이하게 된다.

MBC has confirmed that its new drama, "21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife," will premiere in the first half of 2026 on Fridays and Saturdays.
“21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife” is a romance about overcoming fate and challenging social status, set in a fictional 21st-century constitutional monarchy of Korea. It follows Sung Hee-joo, a chaebol who has everything but is frustrated by her commoner status, and “Grand Prince Ian” (Lee Wan), the son of a king who, despite his royal lineage, lives with the sorrow of possessing nothing.
IU plays Sung Hee-joo, the second daughter of a conglomerate family, who is a capable business executive with striking beauty, intelligence, and a competitive spirit, yet faces limitations due to her commoner status. Sung Hee-joo, portrayed by IU — who is a top singer-songwriter and an actress with remarkable acting versatility and solid acting skills — is a bold character who enters a contract marriage with “Grand Prince Ian” (played by Byeon Woo-seok) to acquire status, the one thing she lacks. Meeting the prince, who shares a similar situation yet has made different life choices, becomes a turning point in her life.
“Grand Prince Ian”, played by Byeon Woo-seok, experiences an internal transformation after meeting Sung Hee-joo, who seems similar to him yet so different, as the contractual marriage partner.
Prime Minister Min Jung-woo, played by Noh Sang-hyun, is Grand Prince Ian’s “baedong” (a childhood playmate to royal children), and the prince can speak to him freely and openly. He is also Sung Hee-joo’s senior from the royal academy. Min Jung-woo experiences emotional turmoil as Grand Prince Ian and Sung Hee-joo enter their contractual marriage.
Historical notes:
1. The prince’s real name is Lee Wan. “Ian” is his 봉호(bongho) — a royal title given to him when he received the rank of Daegun (Grand Prince). In the Joseon Dynasty, it was considered disrespectful to call members of the royal family by their real names, so princes were called by their bongho instead.
2. The title of Daegun (Grand Prince) is given to sons born to the queen. However, as Ian is the king’s second son, he is not first in line to the throne. But that doesn’t mean he can’t become king.
